Tired Little Boy

Here's how I found H the other day during his nap time!!! 

Apparently he was pretty tired from the previous nights activities!!!  I'm not sure how one 65 pd dog gets curled up like that but whatever makes him happy!!  And you know what's even sadder.....I had to MAKE him get up cuz it was time to leave!!  Like seriously had to call him, pet him, wiggle his legs and finally said "Fine if you don't get up then we can't go for a ride!!!" BEFORE he would get off the couch!!!!

Cupid Poop

Valentines Day is right around the corner & I don't have the foggest idea what we are gonna do for V-day this year!!!!

I did start decorating ALITTLE bit so that's a start!!  Way better than not decorating at all for CHRISTmas!!!

As I'm searching for some crafts I found this cute little idea......

Take a little Valentines bag & put some of the cute little cinnamon candy hearts in it & attach the following poem....

Cupid Poop 

I couldn't send you flowers

and candy wouldn't do

and mushy cards just didn't

No dinner for me THANK YOU!!!

So before me & H took off for our walk tonight we made these.........

Yeah that's strawberry cupcakes in Starbucks little cups that I scored the other day!!!  Yeah the cupcakes that I COULD have made yesterday if the element hadn't went out!!!

And it's a good thing that we walked ALL OVER TOWN for 45 minutes!!!

Cuz then when we came home look what I did......

Yeah you guessed it....that's frosting on top!!  Looks just like a Strawberry Frappuccino doesn't it!!!!  And if I must say so myself it tastes just as good!!!!!

So because I ate THE WHOLE thing there won't be any dinner for me tonight!!  And probably cuz I'm gonna make some more yummy cupcakes this coming weekend I'm thinking it will be nothing but Slim Fast shakes for me ALL WEEK!!

H on the other hand.....he'll keep enjoying his walks & LOVING his pillows that no one else is allowed to lay on!!!

Sorry

So I have these GREAT plans to make these WONDERFULLY CUTE cupcakes today!!

Went to the store, got all the goodies & am unloading the groceries while the oven heats up....

Making the cake mix & getting everything ready......

And I turn around to see the oven a glowing ORANGE COLOR!!!  Not just the ohhhh let me warm up so I can cook you some yummy cupcakes orange....and NOT the I'm on fire orange...more like the ORANGE AS BRIGHT AS THE SUN WHEN YOU ARE 1 MILE FROM IT!!!!

So I rush over, turn off the oven....and what do I find....

Ohhh wait you are gonna LOVE this......


Here it comes.....

                     The heating element is BROKE slap in 2!!!!

How does that happen WHEN YOU ARE ALL READY TO COOK STUFF??!!!! 

And HOW DOES ONLY ONE PLACE CARRY THE PART THAT I NEED & that PLACE IS CLOSED!!???!!! 

So now I'm aggravated & my FAVORITE DH is pretty much laughing at the fact that I shed tears over a darn heating element!!  Ok and now that I am typing that out it is pretty funny & I'm giggling over it!!!  LOL!!!

So tomorrow at lunch I'll be picking up the heating element so I can then add making cupcakes & frosting them to my wonderful Monday night schedule!!!! YEAH!!!!

And to everyone that was gonna get cupcakes tonight & tomorrow am.....I'm really really really really really really sorry!!!! 

Being Frugal

Do you realize by being frugal & packing your lunch every work day for a month at minimum you could save $100!!!??

Let's say at minimum the LEAST you spend is $5 for lunch....that's $25 a week.....$100 a month!!!!

That's $1200 a year!!  Imagine the debt you could pay off with that!!!

I watch one of the girls here at work buy her lunch almost every day!!  And I wonder how in the world she can spend that much in a month!!  Just a little planning ahead at night when you cook dinner saves you a ton!!!

We had beef tips with green peppers & onions last night...I cooked extra so DH could have them & a baked tater for lunch today!!  PLUS broiled a steak in the oven while the tips were cooking & there is part of breakfast for 2 days!!  The steak was the size of TEXAS!!  Add a few scrambled eggs, some toast & a can of pears and DH is as happy as a kid in a candy store!!

Frugality is all about taking a few mins & planning ahead!!!!

Oatmeal Candy

So don't laugh...but I'm really not a fan of Oatmeal Candy.  But my niece makes KILLER Oatmeal Candy!!!  Like so good that the chocolate melts in your mouth!!

So the other night me & DH of course were craving some.....so I called my wonderful niece up got the recipe & tried it for the first time EVER!!!!!

And let me just say it's about the easiest thing on the planet to make!!!!  But be prepared for a sugar rush!!!!!

Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it.......

Boil in a large pan a stick of butter, 4 cups of sugar, 1/3 cup of cocoa, 1 cup of milk & a dash of salt.  Boil for 3 mins.

Take off of heat.  Add 1 cup of peanut butter & stir til melted.  then add 3 T vailla, 4 cups of oatmeal.  Stir together & drop spoonfull sizes on waxed paper!

See it's that easy!!  The hardest thing to do is wait on it to cool so it hardens & you can eat it!!!

Rose Cake

Here is the rose cake that I made for one very cute little princess who turned one the other day!!! 

It's super easy to make the roses.......run over here to I am baker for the tutorial!!!!  I made the roses alittle smaller than she does.  But still it's very easy!!!

THANKFUL

Hoss & I are VERY thankful yesterday for our woodstove!!!!  It was pretty cold here & will be all day today!!


This was taken last night at 9:51PM and do you wanna see the temp outside......



Can you tell...........IT'S 20 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!  And with the wind chill factor it was probably ZERO!!!  Yeah ZERO!!!  And since it was 67 degrees outside Sunday & I had the windows open....WE ARE NOT READY FOR THIS COLD SNAP!!!

So we are thankful for the woodstove!!!  OH and the fact that Hoss's wonderful Daddy made sure that we had wood cut & busted so we could stay warm!!!!

And Hoss says he is very thankful for his nightly treat of his Dingo!!!!

 

Crockpot Tater Soup

We made tater soup in the crockpot the other day.....and it was way easy!!!

I chuncked (is that a word??) about a 5 pd bag of taters up, put them in the crockpot with one of the big boxes of chicken broth.  Diced up a small onion, added it & some garlic salt to the taters.  Cooked them for about 5-6 hours on low.

Then we mashed the taters....not completly mashed cuz DH likes some chunk to his tater soup.  Then added 2 8oz packages of cream cheese and turned the crockpot up to high for about 30 mins until the cream cheese was all melted.  Mixxed everything up really good & tater soup was served.

We garnished the soup with bacon bits, green onions & cheese!!  IF I would have had some sour cream it would have been PERFECT!!!

It's a keeper recipe around this house!!!  We'll be making it more & more now that it's turned COLD here!!!

Bless his poor little heart!!  It was pouring down the rain one day this week & pitiful precious couldn't go outside & play!!!

Christmas Present

For the record my DH ROCKS!!!!  Not only did he bring me home cookies from the Great American Cookie Company the other day!!!  He got me EXACTLY what I wanted for Christmas!!

                        Actually he got me 4 OF THEM!!!

And can I say they are the BEST CARAMEL APPLES EVER!!!!

Ranch Chicken WonTon

Do you need a dish to add to your New Year's Eve snacks???  There Ranch Chicken WonTon thingys are a STAPLE at our house on New Year's Eve!!!

1-2 pds of chicken breast (no bone)
Bottle of Ranch dressing
Packet of WonTon wrappers
                  AND
whatever goodies you want to put in them.  We put shredded cheese, green onions, bacon & black olives!  But I only put the black olives on mine cuz DH doesn't like olives (he's strange like that LOL!!!)

Boil the chicken, shred & mix with the ranch dressing.  How much ranch dressing you use is all to taste....you don't want them way runny but not to dry either.

Take a regular sized muffin pan & spray with Pam.  Put the WonTon wrappers in & form them to the sides of the muffin holder things (what are those called???).  Bake @ around 375 for 10-15 mins.

Once out of the oven, spoon the chicken into wonton & add whatever toppings you want.  Then put them back in the oven for 5ish mins.  Pretty much just til the cheese is melted!!!

I make these up & we snack on them all night!!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

Decorations

CHRISTmas is over & now we all turn our decorating thoughts to New Years decorating!!!

I should say most of our thoughts turn...cuz I didn't even doecorate for CHRISTmas LOL!!!!

Soooo in my quest to do better for New Years I'm surfing the web trying to find some easy decorations!!

This one from Martha Stewart is pretty cute......

I'm not to sure how Hosser will feel about all the sparkles & the glass BUT I might just try something to that effect!!!!!

Why????

So I'm really not sure why this morning this song had me in tears!!! BUT I'm on my way to work....makeup lookin AWESOME might I add drivin my car minded my own business drinkin some AWESOME coffee & this song comes on!! And the tears start flowin & there is a small river by middle ways into the song & by the time the song got done THERE IS A HUGE RIVER gushing & the people driving next to me probably where saying something to the effect of...Bless her Lord cuz she really needs it today OR

THAT CHIC IS PLUM CRAZY!!!!!

I'm hoping it was the first & not the last!!!!! LOL!!!

45 Minutes

For 45 minutes every night H & I take a walk/jog thru town!!  Why do we take 45 minutes out of our night to take a lovely sometimes freezing walk thru town every night.....

Cuz my wonderful DH brings home wonderfulmous boxes like this......

Which contain AWESOME WONDERFULLY YUMMY THINGS like this..........

And because I HAVE to eat one after our walk we MUST walk for 45 minutes. 

Hoss even appreciates the walk!!!!
