Christmas Present

For the record my DH ROCKS!!!!  Not only did he bring me home cookies from the Great American Cookie Company the other day!!!  He got me EXACTLY what I wanted for Christmas!!

                        Actually he got me 4 OF THEM!!!

And can I say they are the BEST CARAMEL APPLES EVER!!!!

Ranch Chicken WonTon

Do you need a dish to add to your New Year's Eve snacks???  There Ranch Chicken WonTon thingys are a STAPLE at our house on New Year's Eve!!!

1-2 pds of chicken breast (no bone)
Bottle of Ranch dressing
Packet of WonTon wrappers
                  AND
whatever goodies you want to put in them.  We put shredded cheese, green onions, bacon & black olives!  But I only put the black olives on mine cuz DH doesn't like olives (he's strange like that LOL!!!)

Boil the chicken, shred & mix with the ranch dressing.  How much ranch dressing you use is all to taste....you don't want them way runny but not to dry either.

Take a regular sized muffin pan & spray with Pam.  Put the WonTon wrappers in & form them to the sides of the muffin holder things (what are those called???).  Bake @ around 375 for 10-15 mins.

Once out of the oven, spoon the chicken into wonton & add whatever toppings you want.  Then put them back in the oven for 5ish mins.  Pretty much just til the cheese is melted!!!

I make these up & we snack on them all night!!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

Decorations

CHRISTmas is over & now we all turn our decorating thoughts to New Years decorating!!!

I should say most of our thoughts turn...cuz I didn't even doecorate for CHRISTmas LOL!!!!

Soooo in my quest to do better for New Years I'm surfing the web trying to find some easy decorations!!

Why????

So I'm really not sure why this morning this song had me in tears!!! BUT I'm on my way to work....makeup lookin AWESOME might I add drivin my car minded my own business drinkin some AWESOME coffee & this song comes on!! And the tears start flowin & there is a small river by middle ways into the song & by the time the song got done THERE IS A HUGE RIVER gushing & the people driving next to me probably where saying something to the effect of...Bless her Lord cuz she really needs it today OR

THAT CHIC IS PLUM CRAZY!!!!!

I'm hoping it was the first & not the last!!!!! LOL!!!

45 Minutes

For 45 minutes every night H & I take a walk/jog thru town!!  Why do we take 45 minutes out of our night to take a lovely sometimes freezing walk thru town every night.....

Cuz my wonderful DH brings home wonderfulmous boxes like this......

Which contain AWESOME WONDERFULLY YUMMY THINGS like this..........

And because I HAVE to eat one after our walk we MUST walk for 45 minutes. 

Hoss even appreciates the walk!!!!

Christmas Gifts

This year CHRISTmas in our house is going to be alittle different!!  We haven't decorated, haven't bought any gifts that have to be wrapped, haven't had to stress out about shopping & spending money we don't have.  Didn't get up & go Black Friday shopping (which has been a tradition for YEARS)!  We haven't done any of the wordly things that mean CHRISTmas!!!

It's not that we are being Mr. & Mrs. Scrooge!!!  That's not it at all!!

We have choosen this year to remember the true meaning of CHRISTmas!!! 

There was a gift that was given to us many many many moons ago!!  Our Lord and Savior decided to lower himself to come down to this earth to DIE FOR US!!!  You know HE knew how everything was gonna play out!!  He is Omniscient!!  HE knew HE was gonna have a horrible death, be placed on the cross & be persecuted his whole life for ME!!! 

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"




Without the birth that we will celebrate in a few days there never would have been a death!!! 

So this year for CHRISTmas the only gift that will be under our pretend tree (cuz we don't have one up remember) is little ol me!  A gift to my Lord, who came to this horrible earth & died so I could live today!!  A gift of thanksgiving to HIM.  I'll be living my life looking up to HIM and saying thank you for all that you've done for me!!!!

New Game

                                   Hoss got a new toy!!!!! 

See the little holes.......treats get put in there & the yellow cups get put in the holes.  He is smart enough now to pick the cups up & get the treats!!!  And THEN he spins the top of the toy & gets more treats!!! 

He LOVES it!!!  Loves it so much that after 2 or 3 times of getting all the treats out this is what happens.......

Christmas Wish List

Wanna see what is on my Christmas wish list.........

Yep that's right!!!!  A caramel covered apple from Kilwin's!!  They have the BEST!!!  And thankfully I heard the DH tell someone on the phone the other night that he had to go get me one!!!! YEAH!!! 

That and a day hanging out with my 2 favorite guys & celebrating Jesus birth will be the PERFECT day in my book!!!!

OCD??????

Is it OCD that I have a white board in my bedroom that I write things down on that need to get done over the week!!  And is it bad that it makes me feel good to mark the things off???

Or is it worse that decorations has been on the board for 3 weeks now & I STILL HAVEN'T done any CHRISTmas decorating yet??  And ummm CHRISTmas is less than 2 weeks away????

Giving

Today I am going to give my ALL in everything I do!!

That includes relationships, being a wife, being a homemaker, my prayers, my reading of the Bible, work, EVERYTHING I do!!

Giving your all isn't the easiest thing to do!!  I'm a multi-tasker so giving my all is going to require me to concentrate on 1 thing at a time.  To slow down & only think of what I'm working on at that time. 

This will be challenging for me but I'm up to it!!!!!

Day 3

Day 3 of my giving season was given to my DH!!!  We had an appointment yesterday morning that yes I really didn't HAVE to be at but went to support him.  Cuz this process is kinda scary & he needed his goofball wife to be there for him!  I went into work for just a few hours then came home & spent time with him & Hosser!!  We had a nice dinner of homemade veggie soup & PB Sandwiches.  Just a quiet nice at the house....anything to destress after a crazy, stressfull day.

So that was my day 3!!!!

Giving Season Day 2 cont....

So I'm a goofball & forgot to get back online last night & tell you how day 2 finished up!!!

Why did I forget....cuz I left work, picked Hoss up from doggie daycare, ate a snack @ home, went to church, went to the grocery store (for 2 houses might I add), went to the gas station, swung thru & picked up dinner, dropped groceries off @ 1 house, came home with my groceries, ate dinner, did laundry, finished up the goodies for a party tonight, packed for the party tonight, got Hoss to finally lay down , watched 20 mins of the UNC basketball game.....GO HEELS!!  Kept the woodstove cranking cuz it was really really really cold outside & finally crashed!!! 

And I just now remembered I didn't finish telling ya'll how yesterday went!!

So my first thought got shot down.....I moved it on down the list of things I could give.  MIGHT try again another day!!

So the rest of the day I gave kind words to EVERYONE I crossed paths with.  The guy at the grocery store that looked CRAZY cuz I'm sure his wife asked him to pick up a few things & he didn't know where half of them where (atleast that's what I think happened) I said Hi to & smiled at him.  Then offered him my buggy before he dropped the eggs LOL!!  The lady at the convenience store I opened the door for & said have a good night.  The kid behind the counter at the store I talked to probably alittle too long cuz I think DH got alittle impatient!!!  Just talked to everyone!!!  It did make my night go alittle smoother & not seem so crazy!  I felt a whole lot lighter as I ran back to the other side of the store cuz I forgot a Diet Sundrop!!  And if you know our grocery store you'll understand the 2 mile walk that occurs from one side to the other!!!! LOL!!!  It really wasn't a big deal because that meant more people I could talk to & more people that I could spread alittle sunshine too!!!

Season of Giving Day 2

Ok so my season of giving day 2 hasn't started off like I thought it would!!!!!

I had a plan, I executed my plan, and of course like usual my plan didn't get followed thru because of people's smart remarks!  So I have a change of plans on my giving for today!!!

Here is to hoping that plan #2 will go better & hopefully give alittle joy to somone!!!!

Giving Season

So a very wonderfully smart, strong, vibrant, JOIful person in my family has challenged me to give something every day until the end of the year.  This is the season of giving you know.

So tonight during mine & Hoss's walk/jog we are going to be taking the BAG LOAD of clothes I have been throwing in the corner of the bedroom over to the Christian Ministry office. 

It's a cold, rainy, snowy day here & I'm sure someone could use the clothes & boots that are in that bag.  And I'm positive it will put a smile on their face when they get some warm clothes during these chilly days that are coming.

I've started a list of the things I can "give" this season!!  Mostly all of them are going to cost me nothing!!!  And probably won't take more than a few seconds or minutes of my day.

I'll make sure to let you in on what I'm giving every day!!  And hope that you will join us during this season of giving!!!

Sweet Tater Casserole YUMMINESS!!!!

So DH said I can make amazing Sweet Tater Casserole!!!  And I don't THINK he was pulling my leg this time....LOL!! 

It really was super duper easy!!!!  All I did was cut up 2 HUGE sweet taters, and boiled them

along with some cinnamon & allspice (I didn't measure....just sprinkled some in)

I probably boiled them for like ummmmm FOREVER.....LOL not really but it seemed like it.  Probably a good 20 mins or so until they were mushy.

Drained the taters........

And then melted probably 3/4 a stick of butter in the pan, added the taters back then added more cinnamon, allspice & some brownsugar and went to mashing!!!!

And I really mashed them....didn't whip at all!!  And truthfully I THINK that was a first for me!!!  Kinda fun to take out a few frustrations!!!!

Then I found these cool little casserole dishes at the grocery store.......

Aren't they cute!!  They are the perfect size for one!!  Cuz in our house only DH eats sweet taters!!!  So I made 2 of them....one for Thanksgiving day & one for this weekend for him!!!

Sprinkled some more brown sugar on the top.  And baked at 350 for about 20-30 mins. 

See super duper easy....and apparently very yummy!!!!

Cookies

So the other day I needed a HUGE sugar/baking rush!!  So what is better than peanut butter cookies with Hershey's Kisses in them!!

So while I was standing in the baking isle I saw these.......

Little Mini Kisses!!!  How stinkin cute are they!!!!!

So then in my let's make something fast & easy way of thinking I ran over and picked up.....

And to tell you the truth that cashier at the grocery store couldn't have rung my up fast enough!!!  I was SOOOOO READY for my sugar rush!!!!

I MIGHT have not even put up all the groceries BEFORE I started baking cookies!!!  But don't tell anyone!!!!

I scooped the dough into my little muffin tin, baked for 8-10 minutes!!  And as SOON as they came I put the kisses in them.

Let them cool for a few minutes and BAM......

                               SUGAR RUSH HIGH!!!!!!

Sweet Tater Casserole

So here in Hoss's World at Thanksgiving we somehow can't decide on just 3 side items to have with our deep fried turkey & ham......excuse me a moment while I drool!!!

This THANKSgiving I decided to make real sweet tater casserole.  You know the kind.....peel the taters, cook them, mash them, add the butter, cinnamon, brown sugar etc.  Real sweet tater casserole!!!

We'll see how it turns out here in a few hours.  I'll share I promise!!!!

Waggle

We waggle here in Hoss's World!!  Waggling is walking & jogging, then walking & jogging, then walking & jogging!!!! 

We have thankfully lost a tiny bit of weight!!  The way I look at it...every little bit counts!!!  So YEAH US!!!!  Well YEAH me & Hosser!!!! YIPPIE YIPPIE!!!

But watch out for what I post tomorrow....it might put those pounds back on!!! LOL!!!!

Newbie

      We got a new plant this week!!!  Isn't it pretty!!!! 

One of my wonderfulmous SIL's gave it to us!!!  And to be honest I don't know what kinda of plant it is!!!  But I'm sure we are gonna be GREAT friends!!!!!

Don't judge....we are still being alittle lazy!!  But remember we've been up since 6:30 so DH could take off to work today!!  He's an AWESOME DH!!  Works very very hard for our little family!!!!  He's just good like that!!!

Coffee

                  Public service announcement for the day............

When you wake in the morning, splash some water on your face & THEN go make you a cup of coffee!!  Because if you aren't totally awake when you try to make coffee the following will happen...


*You will forget to plug the coffee maker in & will spend 5 mins trying to figure out why it won't come on!!!

*You will forget to put water in the coffee maker so once you finally plug in the coffee maker it still won't work!!

*And once you FINALLY get the coffee started & poured, you'll get the wrong creamer out of the fridge and have to pour a whole nother cup!!!!

Not that I know this from experience or anything.........

The Weekend

We had a rough weekend round these parts!!!!  Can't ya tell!!!!

With the leaves changing comes much cooler temps......so Saturday H figured it would be a wonderful day to be lazy!!!  And just for the record mommy didn't argue any!!!!  With all the sniffling & sneezing she has done lately she didn't mind a few hours of laziness!!!

We woke up Sunday morning & mommy needed a day of clearing her head.  Has anyone else had a day like that????  Please say yes cuz if not I'm gonna feel like a total retard!!!  So needless to say we had a head clearing day.  And now that it's 9:11 PM I can say that it was a productive day!!!  I feel lots better about somethings that are happening in our lives.  Lots better about passing the worry torch on....whatever happens I'm good!!  We are good & all is gonna be fine!!!

Look what I came home to the other day!!!  Aint the wonderful DH so sweet!!!!

Wouldn't trade him in for anything!!!!!

LOVE me some Mums

We had a few minutes of extra time on Sunday so we ran by the Biltmore House to check out the mums!!  I LOVE mums!!  They mean fall!!  They mean leaves are falling & there is a crisp in the air!!! 

                      One of my FAVORITE times of the year!!!

Sanding away!!!!

So I'm starting this weekend on refinishing a rocking chair that is on our front porch.  It's been left out in the weather to long.  It's got that grayish yucky look to it!!!  You know that look of I really don't want to sit in this chair!!!

So today Hosser & I are going to be sanding down the chair!  Getting rid of the yuckiness!! 

And as I read an email I sent someone about a year ago.....I guess I saved it so I could remember a few things!!!  I was reminded of how God sands away the yuckiness in our lives!!!  How little by little HE takes the roughness away in our lives & leaves a glorious finish that makes us much more desirable & much more beautiful like HE is!!!!!
